The greeting is so poor,it barely qualifies as a telephone system. I gave it dead, save pro doubtless must be inflicted with thrown it dead to save the extra owner the trouble.

It is just so what I sought after, a very lightweight radio for hiking. It weighs almost nothing and is a great addendum to my hikes. It is not a world class receiver, but it is well worth the $10 I paid for it. It receives all I want to. FM is great but AM it can only receive close stations. SW so far so good. Just know what you are buying, it is a $10 radio and it is worth every penny. The clock and alarm work fine. Build quality is acceptable considering the price. Runs forever on a pair of NiMH batteries. Happy I bought it.

I be with you that you shouldn't guess a lot from the radio that lists under $15 but I judge that manufacturer must give up on the basic functionality. None of the short wave bands works, all you get is a lot of static and some distorted FM transmissions (yes, on SW band). Also, I've noticed that the the frequency bands don't stay on ordinary caucus, which could make some of them sweet a waste of time (if they were effective).I own numerous portable AM/FM/SW radios and, even if some of them have best SW greeting than others, I've never had an item that claims SW coverage but has none.On the clear note, AM/FM seems to be OK.

When I first got, I was happy that I got it along time ago. I opened the package and put 2 AA batteries in and started tuning around with it. During the day the frequencies were quite limited and I was lucky to hear approximately stations on the 19 meter band, the frequency range was the 49 Meter band to the 15 meter band, it did hear alot of shortwave signals on the 49 meter band. The one thing that is lacking is the 25 meter band 11.0 to 13.0 MHz, the 60 meter band 4.0 to 6.0 MHz. The disadvantage is the AM band, someone in China did not tune the AM band properly so signals on 10 kHz is 15 kHz which means that 790 kHz is 795 kHz, 1050 kHz is 1055 kHz. The FM band works really good, but it does hear most local signals, but 100.5 FM is flow of blood approximately parts of the band.This shortwave radio is a great starter radio, but I would recommend you get a genuine shortwave radio with continous coverage. This radio only receives passionate and weak shortwave signals on the assigned international broadcast bands. If you use a wire antenna you will not have a problem receiving signals from all over the world.UPDATE : I was using the radio to tune FM stations after replacing the batteries, then the knob started coming loose and stopped tuning. I opened it up and found out that thestring came rancid the wheel. This happened with the second one before, this is terriblewhy it came loose. It was a good radio receiver, I don't know if I will buy another one. Please occur up with a different tuning configuration and then I'll think about itit's not a dial type radio, you don't call for strings attached.

This radio is observably what you are held to get for the price. It works but has to some extent bad greeting, it seeems like he just likes to work on some spots. Also, the case is opening in two pieces....

I'm generally a fan of Coby in the cheap radio market, but this one was disappointing.The radio didn't work first try, but it did after I removed and re-installed the batteries. Then I found that the "Off" button didn't work. I pressed it a couple dozen times and it finally went off, but I had to press it really hard. The tuning knob was so far off center that the ribbing around the knob grated on the case at some places on the dial. Even though the radio has "feet" it wobbled. The battery door was loose.FM performance was good. AM performance was bad including a lot of noise rough buzzing. I didn't get much on shortwave, but it was daytime and I wouldn't expect much. The tiny tuning knob was next to impracticable to tune for shortwave, and the tuning light was mostly useless.So it's OK for a digital recite FM radio, but if that's all you want, I'd go including the Coby CX50 Compact AM/FM Radio including Digital Display, silver.

For such a low price this tiny 9 multiband radio works fine. Needs to be outside for better reception. Easy to use.

DO NOT BUY THIS RADIO AT THIS PRICE.I place of safeguard't used mine a lot, so it hasn't worn out like persons of additional reviewers, but it's observably cheaply made. The further than edge of the off-crucial top tuning knob grates on the case (I guess I may maybe take a knife to the case). The buttons are poor. It just screams CHEAP.Normal facts are weak. It has a conundrum with descriptions, stations from one place on the dial appearing on a additional.If all you want to dissipate is $10 I infer this touchtone phone logic is as good as any in that price array, but I question what good you'd get from a touchtone phone logic of this feature, particularly with the intelligence of it contravention easily. Maybe you may maybe find a in tears at a frugality pile. I can't think off hand, of any shortwave receiver I may maybe urge in this price array.For $20, you can get the Kaito WRX-911 AM/FM Shortwave Touchtone phone logic, Blue which is a much best touchtone phone logic both in construction and normal. That one isn't a throwaway like the Coby.
