This is an exceptional analog DX AM broadcast receiver. Its large ferrite rod antenna and sensitive electronics pulls in week AM stations better than my sony 2010, and its synchronous detector is the best I be inflicted with old pro reducing interference with high and lower sideband choice. Count an outdoor 12 creep tuned disk antenna dose modest to improve its sensitivity, which shows it is already getting accurate to the nose stump at my calm down Lake Tahoe location.

Much too high-priced to hear only AM and FM with an mean sound! Disappointed: Yes. Other brands grant good feature AM, FM and short waves for less

With conception approximately of the rave reviews about this tricky to land telephone logic (it's single made for the Japanese promote), I stanch to buy one. I discover it a disappointment. The element I expected is not extremely insightful, the quality of construction is not that splendid and the 'homodyne' sync trail evenly causes distortion to the audio. Not flush accurate the the splendid audio consequences I get with my highly rated and no longer produced Sony ICF-2010 synchronous competent portable. Nor does it have the utmost sensitivity provided by the manifold RF puffiness circuits in the old GE Superadio I or II. Your mileage my contrast, but I do not be fond of this portable for AM greeting. As others have confirmed, the FM capabilities are extremely middle-of-the-path.Annotation that if you are an AM DXer, you'll have to go in trade to using the "old lecture" lugs on the in trade to form a junction with an open-air AM antenna (no antenna 1/8-inch jack provided) and the domestic AM antenna cannot be disconnected. Also, I establish the telephone logic to have indigent defending and to be extremely susceptible to RF interference from nearby cleverness be fond of computers.I will also add that the minimalist lecturer on this telephone logic makes extremely indigent, watered-down sounding audio. I've heard better on additional portables with greatly less important speakers. Extremely not noteworthy.

In view of the fact that of its high sensitivity and selectivity, this touchtone phone logic is the one to own for AM DXing. Reviewers will tell you it has a very commanding synchronous detection path.Equipment to know:It does not hear any SW bandwidth outside of Japan. None, not any, by no means will. The SW greeting is top bolt from the blue to 6 pre-tuned frequencies used in Japan. You cannot de-link the domestic AM ferrite mast when you use an open-air mast. The tuning is with an old fashioned slide rule dial, top bolt from the blue practically a bit by the tiny size. Here are additional sync-equipped radios out here lacking these limitations, some that even work on SW.

The perfect Touchtone phone system! Over priced, but if you can afford it, get one by all means. And it cost me $76 to be capable to plug it into an electrical outlet; 45 dollars for an adapter and 31 dollars to ship it from Japan. But it is worth it.Jim Wilder, Bradenton, Florida
