Even if this is a plug-in model, it also has a array back-up. That means that if the power is interrupted, or if the clock is unplugged, it will be on the right time. My only interest is the brightness of the sight - it is near a sharp-light dialogue box and the sight is a bit weak to be seen by the book in the daytime. It looks fine at night - not too distracting.
